      Hi Katie,

The best thing about being a scientist for me is discovering things that nobody has ever seen before! Also, by discovering these new things, our knowledge of the world is improved ever so slightly and so, hopefully(!), one day my discoveries will help the world in some way!

Hey katie272! For me, being a scientist means being an inventor. And it is such a great feeling when you invent or discover new things. It is like “solving a puzzle”, you think, think and think, and try to solve it in many ways, you work hard, and really harder, and you live with a hope that one day this is gonna work. And finally you achieve your goal, and you say YES! I have done that.
It is really best, when solving a puzzle is related to save millions of lives.

Hello again katie272 – I think the thing I like best is using my science knowledge to change how we do things and hopefully improve things for patients, for example my reducing the radiation dose they receive or making their scans quicker. Similar to the others, it’s great feeling you can change the understanding of something, which you can then use to help people.

      Hey Katie and jf43420!

For me the best thing about being a scientist is the opportunity to discover something completely new, or to contribute to something that may one day change someone’s life for the better.

Also, getting to travel around the world to different volcanoes is also pretty cool 😀
