      Hey nocho
There are different areas of development in the work I do, often linked to equipment improvements or new radioactive tracers. The work I would like to see developed is new materials for use in Nuclear Medicine therapy. This uses radioactive materials to treat disease a such as cancer. If we can find the right materials that wil be absorbed by different parts of the body, all we need to do is attach radiation to them and then we could destroy that cancer. There are lots of ideas for these materials but it takes a lot of money to develop them enough and make sure they are safe for patients to use, and that they work! I would love to see more work in this area.

      Hey nocho!

      That’s a really good question!

I’m hoping the research I do will eventually contribute to a really accurate volcano eruption prediction system. With this we could work out when a volcano is going to erupt and evacuate people to safety so no one dies. It could also be used when planning where to develop new towns close to volcanoes – to make sure they are not in danger!

Very thoughtful question Nocho! There are several ongoing projects which are really promising. I hope these project will save many lives. Just as today we are in “good to better” era, where scientist have eradicated many deadly diseases. We are so advance in technology. Similarly, in future, we will be in “better to best” time, with many positive inventions, long and better lives, and peaceful world where no one will be sick, no one will be hungry, better food, improved medicines and so on. I hope, in future we will have a cure for cancer, AIDS, and many other incurable diseases.
