Hi chloeparham. Information about volcanoes can be hard to come by. A lot of it is found by visiting different types of volcanoes around the world to do fieldwork.

The fieldwork could be doing experiments and taking measurements on the actual volcano. Or it could be going to volcanoes to collect some rocks or lava and taking them back to universities to do experiments on them there. We have also started using satellites to gather data about volcanoes because of their unique viewpoint.

The other way to find information is to read about experiments other people have done and to work stuff out that way.
